Analysis - Accession Taxes

There have been suggestions from the UK's Liberal Democrats to replace estate taxes (inheritance tax) with an accession tax.

As a reform from the status-quo, it's potentially a simplification step which would be a good thing. It could also bring forwards tax revenues compared to Inheritance Tax (where tax revenues can be delayed by probate being allowed up to 7 years).
